Who We Serve
The library serves the entire Mt. Washington Valley. All residents of the towns of North Conway, Conway, Center Conway, South Conway, Kearsarge, Redstone, Intervale, Glen, Bartlett, Jackson, Hale's Location, Hart's Location, Chatham, Albany, Eaton, and Madison can get free library cards.
Visitors are also welcome to use the library.
The North Conway Library is a privately-funded library which is free and open to the public. This means we look and act like a public library but we receive no public funding- no money from the town, the state, or the federal government. We must raise 100% of our operating funds every year.
Events are an important part of what we do, from our fundraisers like Gala Night, Evening of Live Music, Bike for Books, Adopt a Pumpkin, annual gigantic Book Sale, Thursday Night Program Series in the winter, to monthly book discussion groups, workshops, and children’s story times in the summer.
North Conway Public Library
We have books, books on CD, DVDs, magazines, board games, puzzles, reference collection, e-readers and tablets to check out for two weeks (Kindle Fire and e-readers, NOOK tablets and e-readers), plus our local history and genealogy collection.
On any given day, we own at least 70% of the books on the current New York Times Best Sellers list and at least 80% of the top movies, plus the Academy Awards winners.
We offer free public Internet access on public computers and a free unsecured Wi-Fi hotspot.
