Downloadable Audiobooks for MP3-Players and iPods!

Free and easy to use from your home or office computer                                 Downloadable Audiobooks

The North Conway Library offers downloadable audiobooks for anyone with a current North Conway Public Library card.

There are over 3,200 WMA titles available for MP3-players and 1,000 titles that are compatible with iPods, iPod Touch and iPhones!

How does it work? It’s easy! First contact the Library for your access number. This number is a 4-digit prefix and your usual library card number. Please call the Library at 356-2961 so we can tell you the prefix.

Then go to http://nh.lib.overdrive.com/ ; there you will also find detailed instructions for the service (Quick Start Guide) and find information about compatible MP3-players.

Install the free media software (“Overdrive Media Console”) that you will need to download audios, and install a security update to the Windows Media Player if necessary.

Browse the collection and check out the audiobooks you wish.  Up to three audiobooks may be checked out at any time and they will be checked back in automatically at the end of the loan period.

The loan period for audiobooks is 7 days and a title may be downloaded three times during that period.

Download the titles onto your computer, then listen to the audiobooks on your computer or transfer them to a compatible MP3-player, iPod, or iPhone. (“MP3” audiobooks work with most MP3-players, including iPods and iPhones; “WMA” titles are only for generic, compatible MP3-players and will NOT work with Macs, iPods, or iPhones.)

Some titles (not all) can be burned to a CD to listen to in the car or on any standard CD player.

The collection is ever growing and changing frequently. Browse here to select and download your audios. Click here and follow the instructions if you use this service for the first time.
